Is the threat of fire a real problem today? According to NFPA annual surveys from 1986-1995, an average of 2.1 million fires are reported in the United States every year, resulting in thousands of deaths by fire or smoke inhalation. The lack of adequate residential fire detection contributes to these statistics. Many homes do not have smoke detectors at all. Others have detectors that do not function properly due to dead or missing batteries or poor design. A new solution needs to be offered to homeowners for a more reliable way to protect their families and homes.
