How long will it take me to install FireArrest™?   Since FireArrest™ uses wireless technology, installing your system should only take a short time, once you have decided the suitable location for your smoke alarms and base-station.  It's as easy as plugging in an answering machine to your telephone and installing any regular smoke alarm. Quick installation and set-up are provided through the use of the newest technology in both smoke detectors and wireless controls.  No electrical wiring is needed for installation.  The smoke detector mounts on a wall or ceiling and is powered by two CR123 batteries with a 10-year life.  Verification that the smoke alarms have been installed properly is simple, just press the test button on each alarm.  The base-station calls the nearest Alarmcast central station to register the system and to notify Alarmcast of the system's configuration and the homeowner's request to have their system monitored.  The base-staion can be mounted on a wall or placed on a counter and comes with two telephone connectors and hooks up to an existing telephone jack like an answering machine.
