How does FireArrestJ work? The FireArrest™ system consists of a base-station and one or more wireless, photoelectric smoke detectors. If the detectors sense smoke or fire in the home, the following occurs:

1. The detector transmits a message to the base-station.
2. The base-station sends the information through a phone-line to the Alarmcast central monitoring station.
3. The monitoring station calls the fire department.
4. The fire department responds to the fire.
