What are the FireArrest™ features: The base-station is a low-profile receiver and dialer. It houses the LED indicators for the system as well as a siren to notify the homeowners of any problems the system may have. The base-station's LED indicators notify the homeowner if smoke alarms are dirty, if battery power is low, if the smoke alarms are having trouble communicating with the base station, if there is a phone line problem, and if there is an alarm condition. Up to 8 smoke detectors can be installed with the base-station, which makes FireArrest™ suitable for most homes. Once the base-station receives a fire signal from the smoke alarm, the base station waits 30 second to verify that the fire is real, and not a false alarm. After the 30 second verification period, the base-station dials a phone number designated by the homeowner, and sends the fire message. In the unlikely event of a false alarm, the prominent red silence button enables the homeowner to quickly silence a base-station alarm siren.
